"Inventive stagings and impressive cast"        - The New York Times

Auditions for principal roles in our May 2008 production of Mozart's THE IMPRESARIO and Leoncavallo's PAGLIACCI, to be directed by Benjamin Spierman, will be held in January 2008.

All interested in auditioning for THE IMPRESARIO/PAGLIACCI should send their material, ALONG WITH A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE, to the company at: 5 Minerva Place, #2J, Bronx, New York, 10468.  An audition notice, with details as to how to proceed, will be returned in that envelope in December. All materials should be sent by regular mail; no UPS or FedEx, please.

The company hears both managed and unmanaged singers who have had previous PROFESSIONAL experience singing full roles WITH ORCHESTRA. All roles are open; it is our policy to double cast in most situations. The company mounts its full productions, with orchestra and sung in English, after a careful and detailed music and dramatic preparation period. A modest honorarium is given to all participants. Because of the above, it is usually impractical for those living far away from the New York area to participate.  THE IMPRESARIO and PAGLIACCI will be performed Friday and Saturday evenings, May 9 and 10 at 8PM (at the Lovinger Theatre of Lehman College in the northwest Bronx) and then repeated twice on the following weekend at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University, Hempstead, Long Island.

If you are interested in primarily being considered for an understudy position or would like to audition for the chorus for PAGLIACCI, please contact our Chorus Master, Michael Haigler, at bronxoperachorus@hotmail.com.  Thank you for your interest in our company.
